My lovely husband Jimmy has for the past 6 months suffered with an embarrassing man problem which he now wants to talk to me about. I think the problem is premature ejaculation. Jimmy comes too soon before either of us has reached a climax and this is frustrating for both of us. However, I am glad that he feels he can talk to me about it and I hope that together we can find an answer to the problem.
I have done some initial investigating into premature ejaculation treatment on the internet and I have learnt that in simple terms, premature ejaculation is when the man ejaculates too soon (ie. before his partner and / or before he has reached a climax). However, ‘premature’ can mean different things to different couples and there is no medical definition as to what time frame constitutes ‘premature’.
There are actually 2 types of premature ejaculation. The first type occurs when the man has always suffered with premature ejaculation and is called ‘primary premature ejaculation’. The other, more common type is called ‘secondary premature ejaculation’ and generally occurs in older men.
Premature ejaculation occurs in men of all ages. However, younger men are more prone to suffer from this disorder due to their sexual inexperience. The excitement associated with the first sexual acts can cause the ejaculation to be premature. However, as men get older, they learn better control and are able to hold out until their partners have reached their sexual climax.
I guess Jimmy is amongst the group of older men who commonly suffer from premature ejaculation as up until now we have had a healthy sex life. I hope we are able to discover what is causing it and if there is a premature ejaculation treatment which might help, I am willing to help him in whatever way I can.
